Calendar art!

Kia ora bloggers,
Today I am going to be posting about calendar art.
Yesterday I did calendar art! it was sick. Mine was based on my poem I will share that with you as well.
First we had to have an idea
Then we had to make a plan on a blank piece of paper.
After that we had to color in the plan.
The next day we started our proper things.

It was fun and I think it was really good to do it because you can also relax while doing it so if I could do it again then I would.

This is my poem
It was inspired by Pie Corbett.

If I had NBA level skills

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                              
I would jump as high as the tallest Alaskan trees and touch the tip of them with my basketball… 

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would dunk from the free throw line and 360 in the air before the rim would rack violently... 

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would shoot three pointers and bang them down like CHEF CURRY…

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would hype up the crowd before getting ready for the tip off…

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would walk around in the streets towering over every person I walk past like the Eiffel Tower…

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would practice harder that even Michael Jordan when he was in the championship playoffs...

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would play lock down defense on everybody I guarded and succeed even if I guarded THE CLAW…

If I had NBA level skills                                                                                                                                                
I would block shots left and right and I would send it flying out into the crowd with my crazy reach…

Winter fun dayyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I am going to be posting about WINTER FUNNN DAYY!.
Winter fun day is pretty much just ski day we went to mount hut and then we, well we SKIED!.
We had to be at school to leave at 7.00am!, and then we had to go on a two hour bus drive and all we did was sit there and it was strange because I got up real early but I wasn't tired.
I managed to read for like 25 minutes before feeling a we bit sick, and from then on I was just talking with my friends and trying to get some sleep.

When we got there it didn't feel cold but then soon we felt the cold, before you get to the main bit there is a slope and since I was wearing normal shoes I had to work really hard to get up without sliding back down.

When we were settled in we had morning tea but I wasn't hungry so I just ate a piece of muesli slice. After about half an hour the teachers gave us cards and then we went to get our gear fitted.

Once we had our gear we were allowed to go for a small ski just up and down the Magic Carpet until our lesson came around.
When our lessons were ready there were three groups there was the beginners the middle and the SEMI PRO'S. I went in the beginners group ever though I could have been in the middle group.
My ski instructor's name was Steve.

The lesson was easy but it's not like i'm going skiing any time soon.
After the lesson we could do anything we wanted, first I went on the magic carpet witch is the easiest.
Eventually I went on the chairlift witch I didn't know I could go on, I went on it with my three best friends, it took a long time.
My friend Kade who was the one we needed for the chairlift, (because he had been on before)
was explaining what to do at the end.
Since there were four of us it was messy when it was time to get off, Kade was fine because he's good, but my friend corbin was good for a couple metres however me and my friend toby went horrible, I fell off and face planted in the snow, and he didn't even get off!.

When it was time to leave I headed back and had some more food and then we were off.
The bus ride was long but not as long because we were going downhill, and I fell asleep.

How about teaching

Today I am going to be posting about me teaching my mum a method that I have learned in class.
I think I might chose the chunking method.

My mum can learn the division by chunking method.
My mum was a good learner and she was easy to work with and didn't ask to many questions so that was good.

I think that went better than I thought and it was a good time for my mum.

Poetry?

Today I am going to be posting about POEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Today I made a poem that was the rip off of Pie Corbett's poem THE PLAYGROUND MONSTER.
As a bonus I am going to share an analysis of what poet I think is better(Pie Corbett or Valerie Bloom).

My poem is called The Mega Air Monster
I think my poem is pretty good but that's just my opinion so I want to know what you think.

The Mega Air Monster

It bounced me with its springy claws,

And then it tried to pound me.

It stuck to my skin with it’s foamy clasp,

And then it tried to fight me.

I live in horror of throwing,

The yellow ball that it tries to dodge.

I think it knows I'm rocketing the ball at the face of lightning,

It listens as I hear the low growl emerge.

I fear its greedy power,

The way it seems to use it, as forever i’m the loser so as not to blow the fuze.

The way it reaches out to put me on the side,

And take it as a feed.

It bounced me with its springy claws,

And then it tried to pound me.

It stuck to my skin with it’s foamy clasp,

And then it tried to fight me.

Analysis
Pie corbett He is humorous, and descriptive with quite a few rings to his poems.
He has repetition. He always has a theme. Pie Corbett is an imaginative poet and
I think he is a talented person and he could eventually become an amazing poet.
He is a poet that has a lot of rhythm and it is hard to read his poems if there is no
rhythm. Valerie Bloom She is a unique poet and I think that she will achieve a lot more in the future but
at the moment I think she needs to focus on the other things that she thinks need
improving on. The strategy of Valerie Bloom is one that is very common but effective and
I think that she can use that strategy. She is a very descriptive poet and I think
that she can use her talent.

Invention or dicovery?

Kia ora bloggers,
Today I am going to be posting about if I think that maths is an invention of discovery.
I have to brainstorm all my thoughts and ideas and include some friends ideas as well.
I think I might struggle but hopefully, I can keep it together!.
The place I got the idea from was from my class website. Rimu YMS (yaldhurst model school).
I also have to summarise my thoughts.
I think it went a lot better that I thought but there was some struggle at some point about how I should prove my point, other that that I think it is pretty good.
