Kia ora bloggers!,
Today I am going to be posting about our visit from kiwi author Karen Wilson. She has wrote Kerus BBQ and, she also has a book called Peka and koru on pre order now. She is from christchurch and she has batch I think her grampa owns it though.
I think it was really good and educational for her to come in and read her new book to us, I really enjoyed it.
Facts I learnt: In nz there is a worm that is crossed between a caterpillar.
A Kiwis nostrils are at the end of its beak.
Kerus can't actually fly.
Unlike any other bat a nz short tail bat can crawl on the ground.

What are decimals?
Kia ora bloggers,
Today I am going to be posting about my decimals math work that I just finished, it was 27 slides I had to do.
Where did I get the work from: I got the work from my teacher Mrs Taylor.
Overall I think it was quite fun to do and wasn't to hard that I couldn't do it but not to easy that I did it in a flash, I think I did pretty good and then I've got Monday to create a game for decimals, I have never done decimals before have you? please comment and tell me if you have.
Thanks for reading if you liked it please leave a comment.😃
My work hasn't been marked yet so please feel free to point out any mistakes.

Book report but what book?
Kia ora bloggers,
Today I am going to be doing a book report about the book I just finished it is called "Wings of fire", it is about five dragonets(baby dragons) who are supposed to be part of a prophecy but they are under a mountain with three dragons called the talons of peace and there's this whole plan to escape. They get out of the mountain and then if you read it you will find out what happens next.
I give it probably a 4.5 star rating because it really gets into action and has pretty good cliff hangers that leave you wanting more.
Overall I think it was a really good book that is good for kids ageing from maybe eight to thirteen or forteen.

My response
Kia ora blogger's,
Today I am going to post about my response to the book my sister lives on the mantelpiece.
It is a book about a boy who lives with his sister and his dad he has a sister named Rose but she died and now she lives on the mantelpiece so it's just him his sister and their dad because there mum left them.
It is a pretty good book i'd say it's like a 3.5 to 4.0 star book because it's good but it doesn't really jump out to me.
My description: It is complex, as it is about love, death, murder, racism, friendship, bullying and growing up. This book is narrated by a boy called Jamie, whose older sister, Rose, lives on the mantelpiece – literally.

My speech practice
Kia ora bloggers,
Today I am going to be posting about my speech practice.
My speech practice is a speech that I wrote after the speech I performed to my class, it was about the greatest sport in the world Basketball. Anyway we had 8 choices to write about and I chose to write a speech about why laptops are better than tablets and that's what i'll share with you today.
Overall it was quite fun and I did learn how to use fearrr a lot better and my introduction, I still think I need to work on my hooking the reader in and using sets of three alliteration and a bit of repetition.
The write took me around half an hour to complete to it's full.
Please give me some feedback about my blog post.

My story:
Why laptops are better than
tablets
Who are you and what do you stand for? Hi my name is Rhys Rickard and I am here with you today to talk about why the laptop is better than the tablet. The laptop is better than the tablet because it is bigger has more space and if you are young that you can go on lots of gaming sites like friv or arcade.prehakes.com and many more.
The differences
Do you know the differences between the two? Do you?. I know I do, it’s simple really. The laptop is better in a few ways but there’s a twist to it, the twist is that in a way there are only three main differences. The differences are: 1. that the laptop is way bigger but that can differ because if you have a small laptop like a small hp one and you compare it to the largest tablets there isn't much size difference. 2. You can go on propper websites if you have a laptop instead of a tablet, those websites being gaming websites of shopping websites depending on the version of your tablet. 3. If you have a laptop instead of a tablet you will have a lot more space.
The capabilities
The capabilities are: Better websites and faster internet it is also easier to connect to the wifi on a laptop. When you are on a tablet sometimes when you try to connect to a game it is very slow loading and when you are in the game it is very slow when you try to do things. Also the laptop is better for your eyes because it isn’t such a small screen.
Conclusion
I hope I have convinced you if you weren't already convinced that Laptops are better than tablets. I hope you agree with my speech to persuade you to think that laptops are better than tablets. Please tell others about my speech and how I persuaded you to think what you think now.

Maths weeeeek!!!
Kia ora bloggers!,
This week was maths week as you can tell(from the title) maths week is when you have 9 activities and you get to choose which one to do and if you complete that you can move on to the next one if there is time.
My friend and I chose to do the playground at the end there was heaps of tension and we just needed to finish our fountain but in the end we still finished because we had to have a water source type thing and we chose to do the fountain but we had the base of it done so it still counted.
Our source came from our website rblair, we got our info and instructions from.
In the end it was fun hard but fun and we were proud of what we had done.
Please tell me what you think of it in a comment,
This is our plan:

A picture paints a thousand words
Kia ora bloggers,
Today I am going to be posting about a picture that paints a thousand words, it is a home learning blog that I am going to do for you to inspire by blog/blog post.
After reading this blog post I hope you can understand that you can do anything if you put your mind to it, eg, at the start of last year I started to get into basketball and slowly I climbed my way to the top and now at ten years old I play in a school team a under thirteen team and a all star team. It is very hard for me to deal with all the difficulty but last week when I played my under thirteen team game I scored my 4th 6th and 8th points in the season that's hardly any compared to that we score around 65 points a game but the point is that after a lot of hard work I have got so much better and that's what you need to do.
I am doing this post to inspire all the bloggers out there to: Be kind, be helpful, be thoughtful, be amazing, be inspiring, follow your heart, reach for the stars, create your dream for yourself.
Can your picture paint a thousand words? can your picture change the world? can your mind create something that can change the world?
Be inspiring and create your world
The only way... is up
